FIRST®  is the world’s leading youth robotics organization, offering hands-on STEM experiences that spark innovation, build confidence, and prepare students for the future. Through mentorship, teamwork, and engineering challenges, young people around the globe thrive in our programs.


FIRST® Delaware proudly supports two dynamic robotics programs: FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) and FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC). These initiatives engage students across the state in STEM through creative problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world applications

FIRST Lego League

Grades K-8 | Ages 5-16

FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) introduces students to the fundamentals of STEM through fun, engaging challenges that combine LEGO-based robotics and research projects. Teams imagine, build, and program autonomous robots to complete missions while learning the importance of core values like discovery, inclusion, and cooperation.

FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) empowers students to design, build, and code robots for competitive alliance-based matches. It fosters STEM skills, engineering experience, and strategic thinking while encouraging teamwork, leadership, and business acumen.  Participants gain real-world engineering experience, develop business and marketing strategies, and grow critical teamwork and leadership skills.

FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) empowers high school students to engineer industrial-sized robots for large-scale competition. Students work side-by-side with mentors, gaining technical, teamwork, and leadership experience that supports future workforce readiness and careers in STEM fields.
